help i need to fix a virus, it has very distinctive symptons - a message comes up every now and then saying you're computer is infected with win32.zafi.b (its not, its a scam to make you buy a virus checker from this company) - when clicking on links from google it sends you to other sites (not the one you click on) it does this in mozilla iexplorer and opera. - the hompage for mozilla always comes up as Insecure Internet activity. (takes you to link removed by moderator -disables symantec antivuris completly, and stops updates from avg. -dissallows exe's called ComboFix.exe (and perhaps others) -when you stop SVCHOST.exe proccess a shutdown message comes up (made in a bat file probobly!), it gives you 60 seconds b4 the pc shutsdown. this can be cancelled with shutdown -a does anyone know what this virus is/how to fix it. p.s its probably not win32.zafi.b i've checked regedit for the entry (_hazib or whatever....) thanks for your help p.s offtopic... i bought halo 3 (preowned) from EB games and it didn't work!... sux! edited by moderator: malicious link
