cablguy, why not simply create a 'test' folder on it and save to it?

Thanks for the time Ed. Here's a little more detail. My test equipment can output it's data to a printer via usb. I would like to capture this on my laptop and convert to pdf instead of printing hundreds of pages. As of now my test equipment reports an error of "no printer found".

Thanks again for your time and help

set the print driver to print to file not a port. You would then convert that file to pdf

Some pdf writers install as a printer which is also an option.

Or install CutePDF. It installs a virtual printer which wrties a PDF file.

Or PDFCreator. Anything you can print you can make into a PDF.

I am okay with print to file and pdf conversion, my issue is that my test equipment has a proprietary OS with a couple of print drivers. I have no way of configuring anything here. I just connect a printer via usb, select my files and select print. What I would like to do is connect my laptop instead of the printer and print to my dopdf virtual printer and create one pdf instead of several hundred printed copies on paper.
I hope this makes for a clearer explanation and as always thanks for your time.

Sorry. I should probably add that when I connect my laptop via usb the test equipment is looking for a printer and instead of sending the files to my laptop it reports a " no printer found" error.
I hope this helps you to help me!
Thanks
