When running Virtual PC, there is a host OS & a guest OS. Assuming you have WinXP installed, that is the host. Whichever OS you install as a virtual PC will be the guest. There are certain guidlines for how much memory is necessary for both the host & guest. For example, the minimum for XP as the host is 128MB. If you want the guest OS to perform as well as possible, customize the memory allocation during the install. Since you have 1.26GB RAM, you could set the host memory at 0.26GB & the guest memory at 1.0GB. This would in no way impact the way XP runs. When you intially bootup, XP would run at 1.26GB. When you fire up Virtual PC, the RAM amount would shuffle (0.26GB to XP, 1.0GB to the guest). As soon as you exit the guest OS & close Virtual PC, the XP RAM amount will revert back to 1.26GB again.
