Okay, I got a system with an E7400 Processor Dual Core. I installed Virtual PC in Windows XP or Vista/2008 64 bit and I am trying to install Windows XP in the Virtual Machine. When I do this, I go through the classic setup, partition, etc., but whenever it is as the 'Copying Files' section, the VM is very unresponsive. It is very slow at copying the files, reading it from the CD to the Hard Drive. I looked in my task manager to see Virtual PC running at 50 percent. Whats going on that this has to happen? I know Virtualization Technology is not available in this processor, but I never had this issue with my Pentium D 3.4 and even my Pentium 4 3.0 GHz.
50% is VPC is using all of one core. It shouldn't do that in most cases. Might have to give more ram to the VM. Could be an install error. Which VPC do you have?
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
