Hi- I just got a message on my screen, "low virtual memory". I went into, my comp., ck'd properties and etc. I raised my memory higher than recommended. Is this going to mess up my system in any way? Thanks

mr. taylor,
for all intents and purposes increasing the amount of virtual memory on a system won't hurt it. however it my slow the system's hard drive access down a bit. see, virtual memory is what windows uses when it runs out of normal memory (ram); and it creates "virtual memory" on the hard drive. the hard drive is much slower than ram, b/c ram is electrical. how much ram is in the system now? if <128MB increasing the amount of ram may fix the problem. you may also want to check for any unnecessary programs running in the background. hope this was helpful!

You should let Windows manage your virtual memory. Do not put a limit on it.
