Viewing PPS File From OE

A friend of mine is on XP Home and using Outlook Express and when he receives a PPS file it will not open directly from OE. He has to download it to a folder and then it will play. He is using MS Power Point Viewer.
When you try it directly from OE you get the popup telling you that this file has no program associated with it and to go to folder options and take care of it. That has already been done and it still will not open directly from OE.
