I can't view avi files. I've tried DivX with no luck. The view screen seems to be playing (time is ticking by) but the screen is blank. I've tried realplayer, no luck. I've also tried decompressing the file, then viewing with no avail.

Chances are, you still don't have the exacly codecs required for the movie file. Download this file (Ace MegaCodecs Pack Version 5.00--you can read about it here first if you wish http://www.divx-digest.com/software/acemega_codec.html)which contains and installs every codec you could need and it should solve your problems:
