A lot of laptops will display videos ONLY on the primary screen, and not the secondary screen. Probably what's happening is your laptop still thinks that the laptop's screen is the primary screen and the monitor you plugged into your laptop is the secondary screen. So you've got to change the settings so that it knows that the monitor is the primary screen. Go to your display properties (right-click the desktop and choose "Properties"), then click the "Settings" tab and you should see it there.

It's the checkbox right above "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor". What you want to do is make sure you're on the correct monitor and then check the "Use this device as the primary monitor" checkbox.

I'm not sure why that checkbox is grayed out for you. Try playing around with it. Click the "Identify" button in that same section and make sure you're working with the correct display (number 1 or 2).

If that doesn't work, you could try unchecking the "Use overlays" checkbox in Windows Media Player. It's in Tools -> Options -> Performance tab -> Advanced button
