Hoping someone can shed some light here...
After discovering that my nice simple Easy CD Creator likes to pretend my 800mb cd-rs are NOT 800mb, I decided to give Nero a go and downloaded the demo.
It burns the disk fine, I had no problem with that. If the file is played back without interference, its fine. Try to jump ahead and the file crashes. I thought it must be a problem with the disk or reading from it, but the file left on my hard drive, and files from the same source, do the same. Windows Media player (version 9) refers to it as an 'unknown error'. Divx player (version 2.5) doesn't crash, but if you try to forward it skips back to the start of the file.
I uninstalled Nero, and both the file on the cd and the files on my hard-drive worked fine. Reinstall Nero, and the problem comes back.
Any clues? This may not be something that would happen with the full version, but I'm not taking a chance on that until I know it won't kill my video playback.

There are four updates for Nero 6. Did you install any of them for the demo to see if they would correct your problem?
