Google "Convert avi to whatever format you want"

Are you sure about the camera formats? Seems jpg should be available. What model is the camera?

edit

After rereading the OP I realized this is not a digital still camera. Ignore the post.

This is a still digital camera. It's Canon PowerShot A710 IS.
I will try the Google search.
Thanks for the replies.

You can use Windows Movie Maker to change the formats and it came free with SP2.

The PowerShot A710 is a "Still" camera... MovieMaker is no good to him.

"My video camera only creates avi file formats."

Still cameras don't encode in AVI format.

Sorry to say but the camera has a video setting on it. We have taken quite a few videos.
I found a program by Prism that converted the avi file to a wmv.
Thanks for the replies.

The video setting will record in .avi and still frames in .jpg or .RAW
