hey i captured video from my video camera using adobe premiere for the first time meaning that im pretty new to the video editing area... wat good video editing software is there out there?? can i use adobe premiere or is there any other software?? i wanna reduce the quality of video cuz rite now the video that i have is 11gb and i wanna write it into cd... and i also want to split videos and join videos.

Welcome tot he world of video editing. I hope you are prepared to learn. You would be well advised to do a little research about the process. But, I will give you some info to get you started.
Yes, you can use Premier to edit your video. In fact it is one of the best (if not the best) application for that purpose in it's class. The downside is that the added functionality and features of Premier also give it a long learning curve. There are many other point-and-click applications that you can use as well, but they will lack some features.
With regards to the size of your video: When you first capture the video to your computer it is in raw, uncompressed format (usually AVI). You need to keep the video in this format for editing purposes. Once you have completed the editing of your video, you can then encode it into DVD format (mpeg4) and burn it to a DVD. If you were to burn the AVI file to a DVD it would be unplayable in a set-top player.
