I install winxp and when I tried to install detonator drivers for my geforce2 mx 400 videocard I restart and the image flickers when I touch any key or move the mouse. As well everything on the screen is screwed up.
I have tried many things and I am out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

so the screen flicers?

right click desktop - properties - settingss tab - advanced button - monitor tab - and look down at screen refresh rate. check the "hide modes the screen cant display" and look at the Hertz thinggy. put the highest number there and it should work well.

It is not exactly flickering. The screen just goes in and out and the writting is all messed up. Only when I press any keyboard button or when I move my mouse. It goes from wierd screen to black to the weird screen again. All the time. thanks for the advice anyways.

You said you installed XP. Did you have another OS installed before where there were no problems? Knowing this would help us to narrow down the cause.

Could be your monitor going bad.
Could be your video card not seated properly.
Could be bad connection between the video card and monitor.

jumbie I checked all that. it is all good. thanks you for your advice. it is just that the drivers from nvidia are not working properly. Maybe someone knows how to intstall them properly. Cause I have tried every which way to install but still nothing.

XP automatically recognizes that type of card. It's possible that it already
installed its own driver during system setup. Then if you didn't uninstall it properly before installing your new driver, some files and parameters may interfer.

-> Uninstall everything concerning the video
display until it shows VGA compatible
driver.

-> Restart your computer

-> Then only begin to install your driver
again

Hope it helps
Grem
