Comment: hellooo everyone.. I would really apreciated if any of you can help me here... here is the problem.. I was removing the monitor cable from my computer and the whole plug broke, I mean all the pins where the cable connects to CPU. that plug is built in the motherboard, I guess that means it's a built in vedio card... now I already looked at those pins, I can not fix them.... my question is now can I buy a seperate pci video card and install it? I have like 3 free pci slots.. If the answer is yes, do I have to do any setting to get my computer to read from the new installed video card instead of the old built-in one? thank you in advance for any help you provide..

Reply: (edit)Although I have not personally encountered the exact problem of damaged VGA Port managed with an add on Video card, I have used that as a work around for inability to get the video driver of an onboard Display adapter. Therefore, my best guess is that it will work. You must disable the On-board Display adapter via Device Manager[ Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Right click the on board Display adapter> Disable] If cost is a big issue of this "experiment", try using a very Cheap PCI Video card for the test run if the vendor will not allow returning the merchandise for refund :-) M

Reply: (edit)The 2 main problems with replacing onboard Video cards, is being able to disable the old one as some Bois don’t allow this. And having hardware conflicts with the onboard video card even when disabled or enabled. The best thing to do is to check your bois to see if you can disable the onboard video card. If so then disable the onboard card in windows first, and remove any installed software in regards to the video card. Restart into bois and disable video card, save then shutdown. Get a cheap video card or borrow one, plug it in and test if it works, if it does then use what every card you wish. If you go for a new card keep in mind the power requierments.

Reply: (edit)Hiiii, thanks for your help but the problem is how do I see bois? I can't connect my monitor to CPU. The Video Card Port is broken and can't connect the cable... so I can't see nothing. My only choice will be to install another video card and hoping that the computer will read it... thanks Guys
