Hey guys, I am not sure what happened to my computer. I have just recently started to use it in my room using my PC monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I have been able to view videos on media player before. However, I came back one day and tried to use it, and all of the sudden I get sound but no video. I have tried going online to sites that I have been to before that have video links but nothing worked. Then I typed the address into real player and it worked. However after restarting my computer I figured this would fix the problem. Now I cannot watch even DVD's on my laptop whereas the worked before. I can see the black screen where the video should be played (A smaller black screen insie the big viewer) but no movement. I have tried reinstalling media player and IE nothing is working, any ideas?

You need to scan for viruses and if nothing turns up, then try to reinstall the codecs for what ever video your trying to watch (example:divx, xvid, mpg2, mpg1) I use to have a similar problem with the mpg2 codec it would start and the sound would be on but no video. If you don't no where to get these, search for NIMO Codecs or K-Lite MEGA codecs packs. See if that helps.

I don't think its codecs, because its videos that I could watch before, I just tried to play a DVD again this time using some DVD player that came with my laptop and it worked, but it won't show other video's plus I want to get windows media player working again. I am thinking it could be a virus, but I dont download anything on this computer.
