Does anyone know why my video and audio are accelerated or how to fix it?

If I restart the computer it is fine for a while but eventually it will return to the accelerated state.

I have tried changing the hardware acceleration and reinstalling the drivers...and nothing seems to fix it.

If it works, don't try and fix it.

If it was working there wouldn't be a problem...

The audio and video are running at an accelerated speed. The audio sounds like chipmunks. I have reinstalled the drivers and that didn't work. What could be causing this?

Is there a virus or adware that can cause this?

Tried a different codec or media player? Is your media player set to play at a faster speed?
