The problem I have is the following:
I have two Laptops (Dell Inspiron 5100 and Inspiron 3500, the 5100 is a WinXP, the other Win98) and a desktop (Win98SE) in the same LAN with two Print Servers (Netgear PS101) connected to HP Inkjet printers (970Cxi, 990Cxi).
What happens since the day I added the WinXP laptop is: when I print whichever document from whichever application, if the print starts from Win98 or Win98SE (same file, same application), it is somehow immediate, if started from XP it takes ages.
I installed the latest XP drivers from HP, nothing, I tried to change Handshake Signal from busy to Acknowledge and busy, it makes no difference (Netgear config.).
I also tried to contact Microsoft few times but the answer is always "We did not tested this configuration yet...!!!".
I would welcome any sugestion from anybody who already fought this case. Thanks, Luciano

Thanks XTC for your hint, I did contact HP already without success also Netgear, same picture. I've read in the mean time of similar problems including the slowness of ethernet communication, very slow from XP to 98 or 98SE, very fast the other way round.
This brings to my mind that the responsible could be XP only and probably not HP.
Any other help is highly welcome.Cheers
