Hi all,
Sorry to be a bother, as the solution to my "problem" is most likely very easy to resolve. However, I'm rather new to XP and don't know how to figure this out myself.
When I try to run an application, I almost always get the following message:
-
"Open File - Security Warning"
"The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?"
"Name: (x)"
"Publisher: Unknown Publisher"
"Type: (x)"
"From: (x)"
"Always ask before opening this file (checkbox)"
"This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers you trust."
-
It's not the message itself that bothers me. After all, Windows is just trying to be protective. The problem is that regardless of how many times I uncheck the box to, "Always ask before opening this file (checkbox)", I always get the darn warning. It's as if Windows always forgets that I told it not to warn me. How do I stop this?
Thanks,
Justin

If you have Service Pack 2, then it may be from
Windows Security Center in Control Panel.
I think there is were you may be able to make an
Exception to that program.
I do not have SP2, so do not know.

About SP2, Windows Security Center, Data Execution Prevention:

Alright jmszczap82, you've not answered my question so I assume you received the warning when you attempt to do THIS.
