Earlier I had A CRT monitor but due to some problem I updated to 17 inch TFT monitor.
Since then I hane been getting a single vertical line on Boot up screen,Destktop and else where.
One striking thing is that the line is not permanent ,i.e,it goes off automatically and comes back on its own.
Is my monitor faulty or I have some display card problem.
Help me out.................
have you tried another monitor just to make sure it's not your video/graphics card? OVERRIDE
I've seen similar issues with LCD's on laptops and it's always been a problem with the display itself and not the video card. If the monitor it still under warranty, take it in and have it diagnosed. Chances are, they'll replace it immediately with another.
I doubt that it is your graphics card. I have seen this kind of problem many times on laptop TFT monitors. Usually the problem turns out to be the display itself which you can only fix by replacing it.
You also often find that pressing on certain parts of the TFT screen edges can cause these lines to disappear or in fact more of them to appear.
I would therefore agree with override and try a different monitor first.
