In the process of removing unused programs from my computer, I came across a folder called Verizon SmartCall. So far, I have been unable to find out what this program is and what it does. I went to the Verizon website and I can't find any reference to this program. It is in my Program Files, but I do not want to remove until I find out what it's purpose is on my computer. FYI: I use Verizon DSL. I do not use any kind of messaging or anything else other than regular web browsing and email. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any information on this. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply XpUser. I just got off the phone with Verizon Tech Support and even they don't know what that is, can you believe that? I have entered the .exe file in that folder on Google and it comes up with something totally different, not even related. If you say you do not have this folder and your DSL connection is functioning normally, well, then I guess I will delete it. Thanks again.

I won't delete it arbitrarily. I would rename the folder and wait a while to make sure nothing in the machine is missing it.

XpUser: Don't know if you'll read this last reply, but I deleted that folder and everything is still normal. I had an online chat with a Tech at Verizon Central and they still didn't know what SmartCall was or what it was for. Thanks for your input anyway.
