hey guys, i'd just like to tell you that i've had my computer for 5 weeks or so when this started happening.... lemme discribe my computer 2 you:
p4x dragon ultra (soyo), 1 gig of ddr400 ram(has only been clocking at 266??), a dvd burner (hasn't been running extremely smooth), 52x cd burner, 2.4 ghz comp ocd to 2.8, g4se fx graphix card (128 ram), the motherboard has 4 IDE slots, 2 are SCSI and i really don't see how that could make any diffrence.
The time before i got that wonderfull Verfing DMI data...., i had been in windows xp, and nothing was wrong. i had restarted through windows xp, and not a hard restart. Earlier (3 or 4 days ago) i had updated the BIOS from www.soyo.com... and restarted many times. It was really random that this happened.... its possible one of my harddrives kicked out. I've heard that Western Digital tends to make harddrives that either last forever or for just one month. This would be about that time... that is if it's the harddrive. i have a 160 gig, a 60 gig and a 20 gig. all of them are on IDE1 except for the 20 gig, which is on the SCSI. Right now, i'm about to take everything off the motherbaoard except the cd burner, and my main harddrive.
one more possible cause
i don't think this would be true to be a problem, but i had just put about 40 terrabytes through my gigabit ethernet card... what i'm wondering is if the ethernet is built in, would that make the dmi data junk hang?? cause i can't really replace it.. if u no what i mean...well i'll post my success or failure... hold on about 2 hours.
but if anyone could post and get some help out of this.. i'd very much appreciate it... thanks in advance

alright, it works now, apparently something was wrong w/ my 20 gig SCSI, all is taken care of... :), hope this can help someone else out
