Comment:

I have utorrent installed on my PC. If I leave it running for more than a couple of hours, the torrents I'm downloading stop and in the column which normally says "Downloading", I get:

"Insufficient Resources exist to complete the request."

I used to be able to leave my PC running for over a day before this happened, but as time has gone on, the time has become shorter.

What happens after this though is worse. Windows seems to not display folders and windows to their full extent. I get some blacking out of text and just general strange behaviour. When I try to open a program it usually doesn't let me, stating that it is a "Bad Image" or such.

The only way to fix the problem is to reboot, and then everything is fine. I use my computer every day and it doesn't get much of a break.

I have tried viewing the performance tab in Task Manager to see if other programs are using up all of the memory, and although they do use a fair amount, they don't use so much that it takes up the entire memory.

Any ideas on what I could do rectify this issue? I don't want to uninstall utorrent if I can help it.

Malware?
Have you run scans? It could also be faulty RAM modules, anything really.

If you have any restrictions on your page file, remove them and let windows handle it.

If your hard drive is getting full, you might consider adding another one.

Memory overflow.

Consider system restore point or clean install.

Check md5checksum of programs before you install them too.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

INTEL 804806 - I've run scans. I do them every week. I run Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2008. Nothing that can be classed as serious.

AEGIS - I don't know what you mean by page file restrictions. How do I do this? Also my HDD is just about full, so maybe that might help.

JEFRO - Do you mean that I should format my Hard DRive and re-install Windows? Also what is "md5checksum"?

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it.

Bingo ...

Also my HDD is just about full is the culprit that drive your computer crazy. You need to maintain about 20 percent of your disk space per partition as free space for windows to perform flawlessly.
