trend micro has a corrupt pattern file(593 and 594). once your system updates with this pattern file, it will run at 99% and may not even boot up (only in safe mode). they are not being very forthcoming with the information as i spent about 10 hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my home pc and my work pc's. i stubmled across this because i was looking for the directory that the patterns are held in. go to trendmicro.com then click support. it is under hot issues with the very easy fix. you have to manually delete patterns 593/594 reboot into normal mode and manually update to the current version. very simple, but it sickens me with how much time i spent trying to figure out the problem. i hope this helps the others that are in the same hell i was. every trend micro customer is experiencing this. it is a shame.

This is world wide.

The problem is that lots of trend micro customers can't access the net to find out the easy solution.

Do you know if it affected the pattern that is downloaded by the free online test they offer?

Imagine the profits little computer shops are making doing 5 minutes work and charging for an hour minimum.

Is an apology on their website enough for a business that relies on its PCs?
