Wondering if someone can make it Really simple for me to understand how to use SSH to connect from my office computer to my home computer...

Here are the environments:
Home computer... Win XP Pro SP 2
High Speed internet
Using a Linksys Router

Office computer... Win XP Pro SP 2
Don't have a clue what their network is
High speed internet.

So... do I need PuTTY?
Where do I install SSH... on the office computer and at home??
How do I set up the router so that the request from the office computer reaches the home computer??

The office uses Remotely Anywhere to go between company PC's, would it be easier to install Remotely Anywhere on my home computer and remote in that way??

Office also uses a VPN client to tunnel to some services!

Thanks for all of your help to understand this!

First quiz: Are you sure the company IT policy allow employees to do what you want to do? If in doubt, ask them first.

You'd have to have either a common ssh port open or translate it to another open port on the company lan/wan and you have to have a route available to your home that translates all ip's and ports to your home system.

You have to have a client and server for ssh.

Then the app and client need to be configured correctly with all settings.

Then login.

I would consider using barracudaserver instead. Then all you'd have to do is nat the home system to https port.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
