Usind rewritable CDs on a XP laptop

I try to use my RW CDs that are in use in my 98 computer but they do not work on a DVD burner on my laptop . Each time I insert a rewritable disk I get : UDE error .When I try NERO it tels me illegal disk and eject it . ANY IDEA ??

Have you burnt the discs using Packet writing software such as Nero's InCD? If so you need that software installed on any computer that you want to read the discs on.
