Subject: User profile
OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: 2.6 GHZ 512 DDR
Comment:

Everytime I entered my username and password a message appears:

"User environnement

Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on
with the default profile for the system.

DETAIL - Not enough storage is available to process this command. "

I click ok, but I didn't remark any changes in my desktop icons

So why I get this message?

Thanks in advance
Nabil

User profile is not just the icons but also what and how you want your system to operate when you are using it. As in color and windows imaging and is it set for programs or best appearances plus address books and personal files and the likes. Your type of error is generally caused by lack of harddrive space. Clean up the system by compressing files and removing spme of the old files you no longer need or use. It could also be caused by low available memory. You show 512 but how much available memory do you have. You can check it out by:
programs> accessories>system tools >system info and scrolling down to where it shows total memory and available memory. If it is less than 100 then you should add another stick of ram.

In fact a week ago I was having only 1% of free space (200MB), I fixed the problem by
getting free space from other partitions using "Partition magic" and now I have 7 GB of free space.
Also the user profile size is 250 MB.

But what's amazing is that another user has 640 MB of user profile size
and the message don't appear at the logon!!

concerning the RAM I have 300 MB available
