hi im trying to get my user profile back when i tried to log into my account it said user profile could not be located but it logged me in anyway... wn i logged in i found out i had lost all my stuff on desktop and all my preferances my user profile was missing.
when i goto the system properties under my computer and then to the advanced tab there is a user profile setting.
when i click the setting butten i noticed something the accounts are all there but the one im trying to access is labled as 'backup' under status where all the others are labeled as 'local'
can anyone plz help me get my user profile back from the status backup to local back again. is there anyway i can retreive my profile back?

i'm not sure about gettign the profile back, but if you go into C:z and then into Documents and Settings, there will be a folder in there called whatevr the profile name was, and you can at least get back all of your desktop stuff and documents from it, and start a new profile using all of the stuff you retrieve. SOme of the folders are hidden, though, so you'll have to unhide them to get to everythign you need.
faster, better, MORE!!
