i am currently having two users in my windows.
but i dont want my second user to view my hard drives files.

pl let me know how to do that?

make your account password protected

whide doing this you`ll be asked if you want to resctrict access to your personal data

NOTE : This will restrict only Documents and Settings Folder

NOTE : The other account must be limited so as to accomplish this

my account was already password protected..
if i login to second user i am able to view my personal folders and files.

how to avoid this?

look

erase your password and do it again

then you should be able to make a restriction

i did that...but no use..
actually my files are in D drive.I dont want these files and folders to be viewed by second user..

pl help

go to the folders you want to restrict > select them > right click > properties > security tab > select the user you want to restrict > uncheck all check in the allow group and check all checks in the deny group > press apply, then ok > try it

I get General, Sharing, Web Sharing and Customize tabs only.

i found the solution

go to my computer > in the tools menu press on folder options > go to view tab > and then uncheck the option "Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)".

now you have security tab

Note security tab only appears in normal mode with windows xp pro. Security tab only appears in windows xp home when computer is started in safe mode.

he should choose one of this options depending whether it`s pro or home edition
