Start your computer in safe mode and log in as the administrator. Open explorer and browse to C:\document and settings\username
(where username is your account name).Locate the file ntuser.dat and delete it. restart your computer and windows will recreate this file. If this does not fix your problems follow the below instructions.logon as administrator and
create a new account for that user. Then copy the data into it per the
instructions in this article:How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=...To access the default administrator account:
In WinXP Pro, hit ctrl+alt+delete twice at the logon screen and type it in.
In WinXP Home, you must restart and enter Safe mode by hitting F8 at
startup. The administrator logon will be one of the options.
Goodluck,Ryan
