Hello,
I have got a few user accounts setup on a particular PC, with Novell Client installed. We have recently changed some user accounts access rights. When you logon to Novell, the windows login box appears. Usually the last user to logon appears. However it keeps defaulting to a user account hwich no longer exists. This is not causing a large problem, but if anyone has got any ideas?
Thanks.

You can use Tweak to manage a lot on your system, but if you don't want to do that, navigate to the following key in the Registry
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and change the value of DontDisplayLastUserName to 1.
It's that simple.

have you tried unchecking save profile after successful login on the novell properties?
we also have Novell and windows XP

Jennifer,
I actually want the windows login box to remember the last user. At present it is defaulting back to a user which no longer exists.
Nettechguy,
I don't think it is a novell problem, I think it is more of a windows problem. The novell login box works fine, its the windows login box which is causing problems.
Thanks for you replies.

I just suggested checking novell properties because there is a box and a space that a name can be used.. we use the same name on windows login thru novell...in local area network properties, novell client properties, and if you have location profiles, select properties of say default and then there is a box that says save profiles after succesful login... but there is also a Windows Tab that may have the old users name typed in there and that might be why it keeps coming up.. but also maybe our setup is a little different then yours. we have a name set there so that particular windows user name always comes up.
good luck anyway
