In XP PRO as far as I know, you have to choose between WELCOME SCREEN or CLASSIC LOGIN prompt. The security of the OS does not allow for anything else.

Download the Powertoys for Windows XP (it's free), install, and run TweakUI. Under LOGON, there's an option to automatically logon to a user of your choice (assuming you have more than one User set up). Not sure this is what you're trying to do, but it bypasses the step of having to click on a particular user.
