Solved use taskbar to switch active windows

Specs: Windows 7 Premium, 1.794 GHz / 1982 MB
Can anyone tell me how I can configure my IE8 to not act the way it has.

I am trying to switch between active windows by left clicking already opened program windows on the taskbar and if IE8 is the current active window, it will only allow switching if I use Alt+Tab or if I manually minimize it by clicking the windows upper right button.

Is there a fix for this?

Sounds like a result of window combining. You might find it easier to use if you disable the new taskbar features of Windows 7.

✔ Best Answer
Have you tried resetting IE to default. It's a strange issue, if I had to guess, I'd say that an add-on is causing it. Does it happen in IE Safe Mode (Programs, accessories, system tools, Internet Explorer (Safe Mode))?

yip, reseting seemed to have done it, although I did use the Manage Add-On Setting to disable everything with no change...Nothing out of the ordinary in add ons; java, adobe, and microsoft add ons...

It did not happen in safe mode, but in safe mode I was unable to view youtube.
