Use Outlook 2003 for G-mail?

I have heard that Gmail supports POP3. If this is true, how do I set up Outlook 2003 to read/send through Gmail. I have experimented a little and Outlook seems to send a test msg OK using "localhost" as incoming and outgoing server, but I am unable to retrieve any msgs with it. Hope someone has some experience with this.
