There are no none supported usb 2.0 drivers.
There are some non supported usb hardware drivers.
Now what usb hardware driver did you put in, that caused all your problems. Just remove it and it should be ok. If not then uninstall your usb controller in the "device manager" and then reinstall it to clear up your problems. You can only get USB drivers from one of two places. The company that made your motherboard or from M$ themself through windows updates.

Yes if you uninstall the usb drivers when you reboot XP will reinstall them.

When you reboot. The wizard will find new hardware and will try to install the drivers again, if they are stored in the drivers files. They could be or they may not be. Just let them install and see if they work or not. Then take a ride to windows update and the drivers will be updated there.
Let us know if they work out.

Ok, now from the beginning. We need the complete error message. Sorry but there are just too many blah blah, blah's in there to know which one that you are talking about, so please give us the full message so everyone is on the right page. And this time let us know what you did and with what and to which you did what else with. It seems that there is a lot being left out that we should need to know.

Ok and you uninstalled the usb controller driver and then windows reinstalled it for you on reboot but that did not fix the issue. What exactly are you pluging in to use. and how/where are you pluging it into...front/back/hub???
And exactly what was the non supported driver that you installed. and why are you being so secretive about what you were doing or trying to do. This type of information is basic and vital.

You shouldn't have to do a reinstallation of xp.
Go back to device manager and see if there are any yellow/red !!or?? marks anywhere. I need to know if your usb controller got reinstalled properly and if there is anything else that is not installed properly there.
You removed the device and uninstalled it so you are going to have to reinstall the drivers for the 3com adapter. What you need to do is follow the installation guides that were supplied with the device. You may have to go into the program files and remove the installation folder of 3coms.
