USB Stick Error

HELP!! when inserting USB stick (4gb easy disk) into computer, the computer finds it and opens the folder, the computer then closes the folder with an error message and the usb stick seems to loose power (no light. Does not give enough time to copy & paste folders out of directory! usb connections are ok as work with other devices... i know stick may have had its day, but need the information on the stick.... is there a way to automatically copy / cut folders onto desktop to retrieve "hostage" info? all help appriciated

Try a different USB port. Don't use a hub. (port on keyboard is a hub)

The 4GB sticks use more power than the smaller versions. Possibly the hub is not providing enough power. I notice mine also has a slower response time when dealing with large files compared to my 512MB and 1GB ones.

stick does not work in any USB ports on any computer after intial burst...
