I just recently did a fresh install of xp on my puter( xp was already on machine but i was having probs w/ my printer mainly and other small things. Anyway after the install all was well printer was recognized and i was able to print. But i couldnt install my 2.0 usb drivers?Followed the directions (printing them out after finally being able to:) ) I didnt follow up with it i figured for now i would be able to use the old usb format. I plug in a joypad, hardware manager sound plays but doesnt run and my printer is not responding
Any help is greatly appriciated

Microsoft (in their wisdom) won't allow mobo manufacturers to include USB2 drivers on the mobo disk.
Ur expected to upgrade to SP1 which has the drivers.
If u don't want (or don't have) SP1, have a look in ur mobo manual to find which type of USB2 u have (usually either SIS or VIA), then do a google search for the driver.

Check Device Manager before and after installing - if the exclamation marks go, u should now be ok.

GoodLuck
