After install Windows updates, my computer has quit recognizing my printer. I have tried to reinstall, but it does not recognized the USB port. I downloaded drivers from Lexmark, but that did not help either. Can some please give my some ideas as to what can possibly be happening. Please be very detailed. I do not know a lot about computers. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi nutty,
The first thing I would try, because it's easy, is to drop the USB and add it again.
Go to "My Computer" > properties > hardware > device manager and find the USB. Remove it and restart.
With luck, windows will find it, reinstall it and it will work.
If it resists removal, you may need to restart in safe mode.

HTH, Thanks for your quick response. If I screw this up(by removing) (which I am known to do), is it easy to retrieve? Just a little nervous about removing things!!!!

Hi nutty,
You're not "physically" removing the USB; simply dropping it from list of hardware which windows "knows about."
