i am getting this error with my usb ports i have just purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse but they wont work due to the usb ports not working. i have tried to update driver but when i do its says it cant install driver cause it cant find the software???????? I DO NOT HAVE MY WINDOWS XP CD is there a soultion to this problem please help me...... below is the (device status message) The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Just wondering is it there some cd in the box of the wireless kbd more likely you need drivers for the device not for the port. you dont need your win xp instalation cd, during the instalation win xp do copy all of his files on the hard disk
