Weird... after reading a bunch of posts here, I can see there is a lot of people having troubles with their USB Mouse and USB ports under Windows XP...
Well I am another dude with this problem...
Mouse: Intellimouse USB
BIOS: Updated to the last version
Mother: Fuc*king PC Chips M756LMRT
Video: Voodoo3
RAM: 128Mb
Mouse drivers: Intellipoint 4.01
Other USB Devices like Logitech Webcam working great. The mouse disconects for a few seconds, and the system detects it again...this happens every 1 or 2 minutes aprox.
It seems to disconnect when the resources go low...Could this be a voltage problem?
I'm starting to think the problem is the motherboard...Any one could fix this problem yet?
thankx a lot,
Steve

Did you check the BIOS settings for USB enables ? Enter BIOS Setup by pressing the del key, (on many computers) shortly after turning on the power. Look thru the settings and see if the USB's are enabled. Save & Exit, then restart.

Think you mean 'elementary'.
Did you check the IRQs for conflicts ?
Checking the motherboard CMOS battery wouldn't hurt either.

Faulty mouse wire maybe? That could make it think you were plugging/unplugging it. I use the same mouse and software and different POS mobo and no problems with it.

The mouse works great under Windows 98,
and no, there is not any IRQ sharing problem.

thanks dudes
