I'm trying to help a friend with a problem. She deleted all of the hardware under USB Controllers in the Device Manager in an attempt to get her scanner to work. Unfortunately now her mouse won't work.
It's a regular Logitech USB optical mouse. It works on other computers, and other USB devices work on her computer. We've tried different ports and tried to install the drivers from Logitech's website, but it won't work. Whenever it's plugged in, all Windows shows is an Unknown Device.

Reboot in safemode and pull all bogus devices enumerated in the device manager.

Might ask the computer to find new devices or look in system / hardware to see what is not showing up. I guess it could be the controller is not being seen correctly?
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
