Hey Guys,
I just noticed that my Logitech USB headphone seems to have the mic on all the time, odd thing of it is when I had them setup under W2Kpro on an older Shuttle MB this did not happen, I have searched the board here and was not able to find anything similar to this, if it should matter at all I do have Skype on this one but also had the same thing on 2K, I have aleady rooted around in the sound settings but can not find where this might be changed....Thanks in advance to any replies.....

may not be the answer you are looking for , but in the control panel under sounds and audio devices you can turn the volume of the mike down to zero when not in use , I know this is not a solution more of a work around ,, hope this helps

The Mic in the main sound mixer in Windows is supposed to be Muted. Any program that needs to use a Mic will un-mute it automatically while the program is being used, and mute it when you close the program.

e.g. RIGHT click on the speaker icon in the Desktop Toolbar bottom right, select Volume Control. You may need to click on the < in the circle on the left of the Toolbar to find the Speaker icon.
The Mic should be muted, and it's volume should not be at the minimum.
If you see no Mic selection, go to Options, Properties top left of the Volume Control Window, and click on the small square boxc beside Mic to make a checkmark appear in the box.
