how can i make it so if somebody plugs in a usb key or somthing similar it won't show up in "my computer" so they can't copy things or intsall either?

Set User Policies in Local Security Settings so that Users cannot Load and unload Device drivers. This is Administrators only in Windows XP Prof. Stuart
