Usb keyboard
hi,
i have a keyboard with a ps/2 connector, it's connected to a ps/2 to usb adapter.
winxp says it found new hardware but cannot recognize it, i tried looking for a driver in the list and no keyboards are there.
do i need a usb keyboard driver?
the lights are on on the keyboard, but they are dim, when i hit caps lock, they don't react
any help would be appreciated
btw. my laptop has no ps/2 ports on it

If the adapter came with the keyboard, then it "should" work. (I have a USB mouse that came with a legacy PS/2 adapter, for example, that works fine.)
I've used adapters such as this one to connect a PS/2 mouse and a PS/2 keyboard to a single USB port without any problem on a variety of laptops and PCs.
You might try a different USB port and plugging in the adapter before you turn on the computer.

Hi everyone,
thanks for the info, to follow up:
i've tried plugging it in b4 i turn on the computer
the adapter did not come with the keyboard, is their a fix?
about yours - did your keyboard come with the adapter?
