USB HD not recognized by Windows anymore

June 3, 2011 at 11:26:41
Specs: Windows XP
I had a USB HD running yesterday on my computer and it worked fine up until I removed with "Safely Remove Hardware" icon. Now it won't recognize the drive when I plug it in. Have tried multiple USB ports without luck. Even rebooted and tried to start with it connected on not. No Go.

any help would be great

Look for the external drive in Windows Disk Management. If found there, highlight the listing and then post all the information listed for that drive.

It can be a faulty connection cable (USB Cable). Does Hard disk gives you some indication? Such as hdd rotation noise, LED Blinking etc
