CPU/Ram: Pentium 3/above 64 mb

Dear sir
My problem is that,I have developed a USB Client Driver in Windows XP platform using Windows DDK and achieving only a speed of 1Mbps.Please help me in increasing this speed upto 8Mbps atleast.

running xp with 64 meg of ram is real slo anyway.
xp likes at least 256 ram to operate properly.
