USB Drive Not shown in My Computer

I have a USB Disk which i use for portable files. Now suddenly i dont see the USB Drive listed as a Drive Letter (eg: D: or E: etc) in the Mycomputer though i am able to access the documents through Word or Excel or any other software. Though the disk has been recognized it is not shown in My Computer. Please Help me with tweaks. Thank you

Look for the drive in Disk Managment. If listed there, you may need to assign a drive letter.

How Word and Excel can access a drive without a letter boggles my mind.
I would suspect a 'My Computer' bug (not showing the drive).

Try booting up in safe mode and then back to normal.

How to look for the drive in Disk Management ? can u enumerate the steps please ?

You can get to disk Management by going to Control Panel> administrative tools> computer management> storage> disk management.
