Are they 2.0 devices, and you possibly have them connected to 1.0 USB ports? Did they ever work?

Yes they are formatted, As FAT 32 and then NTFS. They have worked, but maybe changing the format from FAT 32 to NTFS, as program and data backup stopped them from working? I want to get one working as I want to use it as an ISO drive with UBUNTU on it. I am running XP one one partition and a trial of vista on another partition. Is there a way of repartitioning the vista partition?
