Seems to be a recurring problem with XP, so heres, my enoc--ters with it.
Just upgraded from Win2k to XP, all my USB devices worked perfectly in Win2k, until i decided to re-install Win2k and then the problems began, whenever i plugged in my Digital Camera or turned on my printer (Epson Stylus Color 880) win2k would hang after a minute or so, sometimes i could get to the stage of printing a document and then it would hang half through printing.
I then decided to upgrade to XP and i still get the same problem, i have run windows update, and have all the latest drivers installed, the latest BIOS firmware for my motherboard as well(Abit BP6) as well, and still XP hangs as soon as i turn on my printer, XP also hangs when booting up if i have any USB device plugged in and switched on during boot.
I have read the Knowledge Base article on the microsoft website, but it is next to useless, and pretty much says that there is nuthin wrong with windows it must be ur hardware thats causing the problems.
If anyone has been able to fix this problem, then please reply with ur piece of wisdom as i am at my tethers end now.

I have a similar problem with this one here. If I leave my mouse alone it will print but will hang up the second I start using my mouse to do something while it is printing. I bought the USB card at Staples and its not fast enough I guess. Everything works great in Win98SE though. Im sure there is much more to it though.

Running XP Home. I had the same prob using a USB 2.0 card with a HD enclosure. Comp would hang in the XP loading window when the enclosure was running. Prob went away on its own. Don't know what it was. Also my Logitech mouse won't run on USB in XP. It was fine in 98SE. Took it off USB and it's fine. I read the other day that Logitech on USB and XP don't get along???
