In the beta build I have (2495) there were no drivers for SM or CF readers in the drivers list yet. There probably are now so check and then buy.

As an FYI, I purchased a Lexar Smartmedia reader and even though there were no XP drivers available I was able to get it to work using the 2000 drivers available.

XP told me that the driver may not work and asked if I wanted to try anyway. I said yes and lo!, it worked.

I think the 2000 and XP hardware management are close enought that even if you cannot find an XP driver right now for a reader you can probably get the 2000 to work.

Answer to you question. If Lexar is available I would go with it. They are top of the heap and even if they don't have an XP driver currently, they will soon

I found a card reader driver for the Simple Technology PhotoReader USB.

I downloaded the file FLASHXP.exe

This worked for my photo card reader without XP from crashing.
