I am wondering if anyone knows of a program that allows for USB Ports to be routed to Virtual Com Ports. Let me give you some background as to why...
Recently I was given a Treo 600 as a gift and I have had a wonderful time with it. One of the abilities of the Treo is the internal Modem built into it. By dialing "##83843733", it brings up a special program called 'Tethered' which basically connects the Internal Modem via USB cable to the Laptop. However, being that it is a USB Modem, I need a way to tell Windows that it can use it, hence why a Virtual Com/Serial Port I believe would work.
By telling WINDOWS that Com 9 (for example) exists and setting up a Generic Modem, I can route the information that is sent to Com 9 over the USB and to the virtual modem.
Obviously I may run into some problems, as it seems a simple anwer however I wouldnt mind trying it to see if it may or may not work.
Thank you for any advice.
Adam

Have you tried to install the drivers onto your laptop. After that it should see the modem whenever you plug it in to the laptop.
