The tape backup is a Colorado 350 tape back up. It was on a Wins 3.11 system but I have seen drivers for Win 95,/98, NT and I think Win 2000.
In the Win 3.11 system the tape backup was on the same ribbon cable as the floppy drive, so you could not back up and access the floppy at the same time.
I would like a UBS adaptor similar to the hard drive USB adaptor that you got me that would connect the tape drive up to the USB port of my desk top (OS Win XT).
I used the hard drive USB adaptor cable but the tape backup unit has fewer rows of connector pins, 2 fewer. So it did not work.
I would try the UBS floppy adaptor but the UBS cable there can not be disconnected from the floppy unit, it is a single piece construction.
Any ideas?
I am backuping up data from older Win 3.11/95/98 systems and using the CD/DVD burrner of my Win XT Prof system.

Hi,
You could consider installing a separate PCI floppy disk control card.
Foogle finds these.
Look towards a combination card if you can find one as this may give you another feature or extra USB ports or something else.

HP Colorado Jumbo 350 Tape Drive has both MS-DOS/W9x and NT4 drivers avaialble:

As it is coonected via Floppy cable there is no way AFAIK to connect via USB, have you tried it on the floppy cable, two drives on one cable is supported
